Help Our Brothers and Sisters in Haiti -
Help Us Help Them
We are all one family and our Haitian brothers and sisters are suffering and in great need! FWAF, with a history of responding to natural disasters affecting farmworkers in Florida, is now mobilizing support for those living in our island neighbor who have been devastated by the earthquake. There are many Haitian farmworkers in Florida and many of them have family in Haiti who they are are very concerned about.
Two FWAF staff members, in our Vocational Rehabilitation Program headquartered in the Apopka office, are from Haiti. Though their immediate families are safe, they are worried about the thousands of others who are impacted by this tragedy. FWAF is collecting donations for Haiti Disaster Relief. Already, the Apopka office is filling up with donated items from non-perishable food, to clothes, to personal hygiene items and medical supplies. Monetary donations are, also, greatly needed to assist us in getting the supplies to Haiti. Several staff members will make the trip to Haiti to deliver aid. If you are able to contribute, you can do so online, or you can make checks payable to FWAF and send them to 1264 Apopka Blvd., Apopka, FL 32703.
On January 24, the FWAF Apopka Office will be holding a Candlelight Vigil for the community to send thoughts and prayers to the people of Haiti. We stand in solidarity with our Brothers and Sisters in their hour of greatest need. We are all one community of humanity!
Thank you for your support!
