FWAF Statement

In Solidarity with Immigrant Workers and Families

The Farmworker Association of Florida (FWAF) stands with immigrant families during this time of heightened fear and uncertainty caused by increased immigration enforcement actions across the nation. Recent reports and news media have shown that our community members are afraid to leave their homes, go to work, take their children to school, or seek medical care. These actions have disrupted families and created long-lasting trauma for both children and adults.

Let us be clear: No one should live in fear simply to try to care for their family.

Farmworkers and immigrant communities are the foundation of Florida’s agriculture, construction, and service industries. Targeting these workers does not make Florida safer; it weakens the very communities that contribute so much.

At FWAF, we are committed to providing support and education to help families know their rights and stay safe. We urge our community to remain informed, connected, and unified during this
time. We also call on local leaders, organizations, and neighbors to speak out against fear-driven enforcement practices that tear families apart.

We believe in a Florida where justice comes first, where due process is respected. We will continue to uplift the voices of those who are too often silenced.

We are united. We are resilient.

La lucha sigue!
